Art

Over term 3 our class is focusing on watercolours. We have been looking at different ways to paint  and how to create different textures. We have learnt how to get different effects with the paint for example using a dry paintbrush on dry paper with a tiny bit of paint, and painting a square and dropping a different colour on to the paper.

Our talented teacher Miss Caygill has organised all of our art supplies and has been teaching room 16 our art. Thank you so much for all your help room 16 just loves learning art with you!!

Back 2 School

It's now term 3 already and we have lots of exciting things coming up. Today we have the NED show for example. The NED show is about important things to help you in life and is made exciting by the man who does everything with yo-yos. Also coming up on Friday is our first day of winter tournament after last week was canceled due to rain. We have the whole morning playing other schools in our sport with no school work! After this week, we will have every Friday afternoon for a few more weeks playing that sport. That's all we have for now, but we'll try to keep you posted with photos.

Trash

I am looking forward to Room 16's new book for the term. And it is called Trash and the main person is Raphael and his friend is called Garde and they are going to see someone called Rat. And Raphael has found a bag with a wallet and it had 1000 pesos. And the police were looking for the wallet so Raphael and Garde went to hide it in the rubbish...

Music festival and the last week of term.

During book week the Woodend School Choir, consisting of fifteen or more students went to the Kaiapoi Borough Music Festival containing five different schools. During the process we sang our hearts out and tried our hardest. It was a great achievement for most as to the fact there were only four people here from the start of term one, and the rest joined either later that term or at the start of term two.

Last week of term so exciting, half way through the year already. During the busy week the kapahaka students went to Willowbank as a reward, choir students got to go to the Rangiora orchestra also as a reward, last but not least, the hard work from the Road Patrollers has paid off because they're now having a fish and chip lunch.

Thanks for reading Rm 16's blog and have a great holiday!
